American child actress, a popular and regular member of the OUR GANG team between 1928-1931 where she starred in 32 (+3 foreign-language) films in the series, starting with CRAZY HOUSE in 1928, and finishing with FLY MY KITE in 1931 at the age of just 8. She was one of the most popular of the kids in the series after jumping ship from starring in a series of short films for rival film producer Mack Sennett between 1925-1928 where she played a character called Bubbles Smith. Her final film appearance was for Columbia Pictures in 1941 with fellow Gang star Jackie Cooper called "Her First Beau". She was 18 years old. She passed away in 2003 from a heart attack at the age of 80. |
