Black child actor, the first of his kind. His father was Ernest Morrison Sr., and is the brother of Dorothy Morrison. Appearing in the first 26 Our Gang films, he was also known by his nickname of "Sunshine Sammy". On September 20, 1921, Roach signed a contract with Pathé for the release of a Sunshine Sammy two-reeler that failed to achieve series status.
