BEATRICE LaPLANTE ~ THE VANITY FAIR GIRLS ~ EDDIE BOLAND |
1920-1922 |
In 1920 Hal Roach launched a new series starring Beatrice LaPlante. After only five films the series was replaced by the Vanity Fair Maids, which later became the Vanity Fair Girls and starred Eddie Boland. This series was considered separate from the Rolin Comedies. In August, Rolin Film Company was officially renamed Hal E. Roach Studios and with the name-change the one-reelers produced by the company were renamed the Hal Roach Comedies. In January 1921, the Vanity Fair Girls were retired, and their series became a solo vehicle called the Eddie Boland Comedies. |
