American actress whose soprano voice gave her a small handful of unmemorable roles in some Hal Roach-produced "Musical Comedies" shorts of the mid-1930s. She died aged just 35 after ingesting ammonia. It has been rumoured she committed suicide, though her family dismissed this. She is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. A very nice blog dedicated to the actress can be found at http://missjeanetteloff.blogspot.co.uk/. |
