Charley is in the dog house when his bride-to-be phones him at work to complain that he is not at home for their engagement party. He makes an excuse to her and promises to turn up later. His valet reminds him that he already owes an excessive amount of money to him when Charley asks to borrow more. A telephone call to his office from two shady looking gentlemen demanding payment for money owed on an engagement ring causes Charley to slip into a disguise (under a bear rug) before trying to escape, under the watchful eye of the valet. |
