Canadian born comedian who, after emigrating to the United States, became a dance instructor, as well as a nightclub proprietor. He began his film career in short subjects for Warner Brothers in 1926, and later worked at the Hal Roach Studios, Paramount and MGM. Along with co-star Billy Gilbert, he appeared in 8 of the TAXI BOYS shorts (1932-33) but a poor on-screen chemistry between them contributed to the demise of the series after just one season. His remains are interred at Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City, California, USA, in the Mausoleum, Columbarium of Graciousness, #810. |
