Stout, blue-eyed, brown-haired British (though most sources give a San Francisco birth place) screen and vaudeville actor, regularly in the films of Laurel & Hardy, usually as a police officer.

On 11 November 1913, Frederick O. Salmon (35, of England) and Alice Mae Winsor (24, of England) wed in Los Angeles. Frederick's second marriage, Alice's first; both are performers. Frederick's parents are Charles Salmon (Ireland) and Mary "don't know" (England); Alice's parents are George Winsor (England) and Alice Shepphard (England).
He was a close personal friend of Charley Chase, who was a witness at his wedding.
