American supporting comedian and stuntman who began playing in Vim comedies of the 1910s before frequently popping up in the background in Hal Roach films of the 1930s. He co-starred with Walter Stull in at least a dozen short "Pokes And Jabbs" 1-reel comedies with Babe Hardy in 1915-1916. Burns was Pokes.
