American actress, the niece of actor Matt Moore, and actress Mary Pickford. Her parents (Alice Joyce and Tom Moore) were "superstars" in the silents and the family and extended family certainly had the "pull" to get any kid in the family a minor part in a movie. Her step-dad was CLARENCE BROWN, the famous director and MGM insider. Alice met and fell in love with Felix Knight on the set of Babes In Toyland and they eloped to Yuma, AZ and married there 17 Oct 1935 (divorced 13 Mar 1939). In 1946 or earlier, she married Russian-born American Citizen, NICHOLAS De TOLLY and lived with him in Moscow where he was stationed as an "air attache" and Army Captain with the US Foreign Service. At some point after her Mom's death in 1955, they divorced. She later married STANLEY MILLER who was with the US Information Agency. She is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. |
