American actor who had a very brief film career. He was a law clerk (age 14), hardware store salesman, wholesale jewelry seller, actor, writer, assistant director, and production manager. He used various first names throughout his life: BURNET, BURT, BERT (not the vaudeville comedian), BERNIE, BERNARD, HERBERT, WAYNE, and B. WAYNE. His WWI Draft Card gives his birth year as 1896, but this disagrees with his "official" NYC Birth Record the 1900 US Census, CA Death Index, WWII Draft Card, etc.
His father died before he was five years old. In 1917 he married his first of (probably) four wives . They were divorced before the 1926 marriage to his second wife (her second marriage) GLADYS RYLEY. She was from a mega wealthy, socially prominent Versailles, KY family. In 1924 (Los Angeles) she bore their son, BURNET W. LAMONT. Evidently, they were living together before the divorces were final. They divorced before the 1930 US Census.
In a 1926 newspaper item (society page), GLADYS RYLEY is referred to as "Mrs. B. WAYNE LAMONT of Hollywood, Calif.". Thereafter, she is referred to as "Mrs. BURNET LAMONT" the many times her name was in the newspaper in KY until their son is killed in April of 1944 in WWII while on a photo reconnaissance mission over North Africa.
In the 1960's, as BURNET LAMONT, he was production manager or assistant director on two popular TV series': "Adventures in Paradise" and "Peyton Place" according to other online sites.
He is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, California.
