Canadian actress, dancer and model. Moved from Halifax to New York and danced on stage (with Walter Catlett, Bert Wheeler, and Olsen & Johnson) and at the Copacabana (as a "Samba Siren") before she was signed by Roach in 1946 after he saw her photograph in a cigarette ad in a magazine. Not to be confused with the Australian actress (1928-2001) of the same name.
