American actress and singer who began on stage and on film in early talkies, becoming a frequent presence in Mack Sennett comedies of the early 1930s. After a brief spell in Roach films of the late 1930s, she worked at the Roach studio again in the 1950s as Gale Storm's stand-in on the television series "My Little Margie" and "The Gale Storm Show" (on the latter series, Roach veteran Betty Danko was once more working as ZaSu Pitts' stand-in). She claimed her year of birth was 1909, but in reality it was 1905. |
