American actor of Cuban-Irish descent, also known as Lou Hicks, who also acted in Spanish-language films. He was a World War I veteran (Sergeant, 203rd Prisoner of War Escort Company, Army Service Corps; service no. 1,195,148, enlisted 6 Apr 1917, discharged 13 Oct 1919). After leaving acting in the 1940s, he went into business as a tree surgeon. Per his death certificate, he suffered from acute alcoholism. He is buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California. |
