Let's Go
|
Only 90 seconds available for review here.... the footage begins with a tug-of-war taking place, with men taking on a group of bathing-clad women. Little Sammy Brooks, who is at the front of the men's team uses a woman's body for leverage when he puts his feet on her to help his team win, but the men fall with the girls winning and mocking their weak opponents. Meanwhile a lady sits on a bench on a pier overlooking the sea and gets eyed-up by a sophisticated gentleman (believed to be James Parrott). When she gives him the nod, the man comes and sits down next to her but accidentally sits on Snub Pollard who is lying on the bench. He jumps to his feet and smacks the guy in the face repeatedly. The action then cuts to the boardwalk and an angry vendor (looks like William Blaisdell) waving a huge knife at two passersby. Harold Lloyd is a soda jerk with a broom who assaults a policeman (Otto Fries). He apologises and shakes the cop's hand but then continues to sweep the floor aggressively so that the dust engulfs all those around him. Again, Harold apologises and sweeps the cop's clothing to remove the dust. A woman (Bebe Daniels) calls Harold over and Harold hands the broom to the cop, who then walks off. I'm afraid that's all I have. |
Trivia • Reiussed August 13, 1922. • There are at least two signs on the boardwalk which are spelt wrong. "Get 'em while the're..." and "The're all big" should read THEY'RE. • The beach scene is most likely Venice Beach, California. |
