Portugese-born comedian, in many silent comedies and worked with Oliver Hardy in some of Larry Semon's later Vitagraph shorts billed as Fred DeSilva. Fred also worked in many silent westerns using the name of Fred Lancaster. In 1926 Fred's wife was killed in a landslide in Los Angeles. Fred went into a mental hospital where he died in 1929. |
