American actress. She is perhaps best known for playing "Sarah Kent," one half of the farming couple who adopts Clark Kent in the first episode of "The Adventures of Superman" (1952). First married to actor Russell Parker, she was then married to actor-turned-agent Antrim Short from 1938 to his 1972 death; this would make her the sister-in-law of Gertrude Short and the daughter-in-law of Estella Short.
Her birth records spell her middle name as "Isabel," but she later used the spelling of "Isabelle." Some sources give her year of birth as 1908, but her birth and vital records confirm it to be three years earlier.
