American child actor. In his June 1942 WWII Draft Card in Los Angeles he is employed by Central Casting with a height of 6'1" and a weight of 160 lbs., blond hair and blue eyes. The 1950 LA Census has him age 27 working as an "operatic singer---church" and his wife Carol age 25 working as a "dancer---motion pictures". He has no place of death listed in his Social Security Death Index (SSDI) but Ancestry.com "US Public Records" have him residing in Sunderlin, Oregon in 1993.
His Dad, BARRY, was born in England (1869) and his 1936 citizenship papers confirm Dorian's birth information. In the 1940 LA Census the Dad lists himself as a motion picture actor and 1936-39 records show him as a restaurant owner and "commissary proprietor".
According to Robert Demoss, a trusted film historian, the titles in the Maltin/Bann book in which Dorian Johnston is listed for (Shrimps For A Day, Teacher's Beau, The Pinch Singer, Bored Of Education, Fishy Tales) all are incorrect. He confirms Johnston is listed in the payroll ledger for "Sprucin' Up" but also states that he does not appear in the final version of the film.
