| American actor. His death certificate says he was born on 5 January 1884, but his World War I draft registration card and his Social Security records state he was actually born on the 8th. I think the 8th is actually more likely, as the two records saying so used Sherwood himself as the source, rather than the second-hand information relayed (albeit by his sister) on the death certificate. (Note: the draft card gives his year of birth as 1883, but the earliest located record regarding Sherwood -- the 1900 U.S. Census -- states and supports 1884.) |
